100 interviews for 100 years
and more…
In 2020 we celebrated 100 years of a Woman’s Right to Vote. In 2022, we remember how that right gives and protects other rights for women.
Every day there is an opportunity to cast a vote in actions, purchases, and words. But the most important vote is the one made on Election Day.
Every vote counts. Especially the one that changed everything back on August 18, 1920, when Harry T. Burn, a legislator in the Tennessee General Assembly cast a vote that changed the entire country. In the face of fierce opposition, he reversed his position and decided to support a woman’s right to vote. This single vote ratified the 19th Amendment.
We hope you enjoy and share these interviews from 2020 about why women vote and think about how your vote matters today. And visit out sister project Every Woman’s Right for another perspective on why voting matters.
